Maps

Maps is part of project Foresta Rossa, an exploration of variable geographies that expand according to chromatic patterns: the painting does not constitute an image of the world, but proposes a system of constantly evolving relationships, a sensitive cartography that takes shape through tensions, attractions and shifts. Here, the pictorial surface takes on the quality of a space in which every orientation is continually redefined, encouraging the viewer’s gaze to follow multiple paths, free from any absolute centre. 

The work offers itself as an incomplete map, ready to be rewritten by the viewer, presenting not a predetermined path but a plurality of possible trajectories. 

Each Map becomes an invitation to consider every frame of reference as temporary, every boundary as permeable, and every form as the result of a network of relationships that is always open to new directions.
