Le Grand Bleu is the title of the exhibition in Taormina, designed for the days of the Taobuk cultural festival, at the former Carmine church, from 15 to 19 June 2023. The name is inspired by the 1988 film of the same name by Luc Besson , whose opening scenes are mostly shot in Taormina, which retraces the history of the competition between two freediving world champions, but above all the passion shared in a visceral way and until the last breath for the abyss and the sea.

Le Grand Bleu is the starting point chosen to reflect on the concept of freedom – the theme at the heart of the 2023 edition of Taobuk – and on the indomitable and mysterious power of the Mediterranean. Le Grand Bleu is a journey of exploration into a dreamlike, unknown and profound world told through imaginary symbols of the confrontation between cultures and civilizations. It is an investigation of the most problematic aspects of human conditions through metaphors and consists of forty works on paper of different formats and techniques, oil, tempera, watercolor, Indian ink, engraving, created from 2010 to today.
